About the Position
- Retail Staff Pharmacist
- Full-Time, 1.0 FTE (64-80 hours per pay period)

Job Summary:
The Retail Staff Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing and controlling medicine; including both prescription and non-prescriptions. Advises customers on general healthcare questions. The Retail Staff Pharmacist is expected to sustain an environment for the safe, rational, effective, and efficient use of medications prescribed to customers of all age groups.
Here's what you'll do when you join us:
- Prepare and supervise preparation of liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets, and other medications.
- Check prescriptions for correct dosage, drug interactions, and incompatibilities.
- Compound prescribed medicines and package and label.
- Store and preserve vaccines, serums and other drugs.
- Dispense medical and surgical products prescribed.
- Record prescriptions dispensed, and the issue of poisons, narcotics and other restricted drugs.
- Provide advice and information on the use and effects of medication.
- Sell non-prescription drugs and related commercial products.
- Interpret and fill physicians' prescriptions for customers.
- Provide medicinal consultation to customers upon filling prescriptions and on OTC medicines.
- Perform order entry of prescriptions into the pharmacy database.
- Contact physicians and benefits providers to process prescriptions.
If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:
1. Current Minnesota pharmacy license in good standing
2. Maintain required continuing education for licensure
3. Previous retail experience preferred
4. Compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital.
