Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Manager to join our busy and growing pharmacy! Grand Itasca is located on 70 acres west of Highway 169 and south of Highway 2 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The facility is home to a multi-specialty clinic of over 80 providers, a 45-bed hospital and pharmacy.

JOB SUMMARY:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital. The Pharmacy Manager will oversee daily operations of the pharmacy, plan, organize develop and implement pharmaceutical services and staff for the Retail Pharmacy. Will be accountable for ensuring compliance with current applicable governing agencies, federal, state, local and JCAHO standards, and established policies and procedures to assure quality services at all times.
JOB DUTIES:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
- Ensuring adequate pharmacist & pharmacy tech staffing is present to fulfill the patient and business needs of the retail pharmacy department.
- Maintaining accurate records of all prescription medication received and dispensed. Review and dispenses medication prescriptions and clarifies any and all potential problems with prescriptions.
- Monitors patient drug therapy regimens for all allergies, drug-drug-interaction, drug-food interactions, and potential adverse reactions.
- Ensure policies are in place regarding accurate dispensing and labeling of prescriptions and that such policies are followed.
- Ensure that security of the prescription area and its contents are maintained at all times, including the restriction of persons unauthorized by the pharmacist on duty from being present in the prescription area while the pharmacist is temporarily absent but within the premises and the reporting of any thefts and/or diversions of controlled substances are reported upon discovery to the Office of Drug Control and the Drug Enforcement Administration pursuant to Federal and State requirements.
- Ensures only pharmacists under immediate personal supervision provide professional consultation with patients and physicians.
- Ensuring only pharmacists or pharmacy interns accept telephone prescriptions consistent with the requirements within state regulations
- Provide leadership, mentoring and development opportunities for staff and establish goals, projects, and initiatives.'
- Oversee the productivity level of staff to maximize efficiency, assure adequate and appropriate staffing levels and control costs.
- Oversee recruit/interview/hire staff. Ensure ongoing education of current staff. Identify training needs of personnel.
- Execute the function of Staff Pharmacist, as the schedule requires.
- Develop and maintain departmental budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Minnesota pharmacist license in good standing.
- Two years' experience as a practicing pharmacist preferred.
- Previous management experience is preferred.
