Requirements:
1. Minimum 2 years medical billing experience
2. Must have medical claim control / aging experience
3. Collection experience, preferred
4. Must be able to read and communicate English language
5. Extreme attention to detail
6. Excellent typing and 10-key speed and accuracy
7. Superior mathematical/financial skills
8. Good computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, EMR
9. Commitment to high level of customer service
10. Familiarity with both CPT and ICD-10 codes
11. Working knowledge of medical jargon and anatomy
12. Good communication skills
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this position successfully, the individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties: this is not an all-inclusive list.
1. Accurate entry of guarantor demographic and insurance information
2. Charge Entry
3. Payments and adjustment entry
4. Daily close, and deposits
5. A/R Aging collections
6. Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices
7. Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered
8. Collaborate with team members in the department to ensure all bills are satisfied in a timely manner
9. Communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputes
10. Excellent customer service, over telephone and in-person
11. Ability to work independently and interact with patients, peers and clinicians
12. Utilize personal initiative, maintain a steady level of productivity, able to multitask, must be a self-starter and supportive team member. Identify and resolve problems.
13. Communicate complete and accurate information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
14. Acknowledges patient’s rights on confidentiality issues, maintains patient confidentiality at all times and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
15. Demonstrates flexibility and minimizes non-productive time and fills slow periods with activities that enables you to prepare to meet future needs of the office (organizing, housekeeping, assisting others etc.).

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
