Hours of Job

Casual employment working 12 hour shifts as needed based on departmental needs.

May float to work areas as needed, including Med Surg, Inpatient Psychiatric, Transitional Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency Department.
Duties and Key Responsibilities

Complete nursing assessments of patients and document them appropriately in patient records.

Collaborate with physicians and other health team members in developing a Plan of Care.

Implement and document clinical and technical Aspects of Care.

Evaluate the patient’s response to the Plan of Care and update the Plan of Care.

Assume a lead role in Patient/Family teaching.

Initiate, manage, and participate in the Discharge Planning Process.

Establish a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family.
Requirements

May be required to work other patient care units or shifts according to the distribution of staff, patients, and/or patient acuity.

Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
Education/Certifications
-
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensed RN or LPN. BSN preferred.
Experience
-
Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
