Job Overview
We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), to join our team and provide quality care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with patient assessments. Duties
- Knowledge of nursing practices
- Knowledge of health care sanitation, hygiene, and medical treatment
- Knowledge of first-aid safety and CPR
- Knowledge of the Heimlich maneuver
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Competent in techniques for working with persons with disabilities and elderly populations
- Be able to intervene appropriately with behaviors
- Knowledgeable in crisis interventions as well as negotiated risk management
- Skills in executing nursing practices and procedures
- Skills in documentation, maintaining records, and making reports
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
- Must have patience and deal tactfully with residents and families
- Must be alert to recognize changes in resident conditions
- Assist in resident activities of daily living
- Development of residents’ written service plan
- Completion of resident assessments: initial, comprehensive, and annual
- Provide assistance with medications
- Follow and carry out physician orders
- Observe the residents functioning, maintain written records of the observations, and report any changes to the Nursing Coordinator
- Supervise CNA’s
- Make rounds in the community daily and as needed
- Handle resident and family concerns and complaints
- Assist in meeting resident needs on a daily basis
- Encourage independence of all residents and treat residents with dignity and respect
- Maintain records on assigned floors
- Supervisor in Department when Nursing Coordinator is not present
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Experience in emergency medicine or behavioral health is preferred.
- Proficiency in ventilating patients and managing airway emergencies.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Provide care to residents on assigned work shift. Duties involve direct contact with residents in accordance with prescribed methods, techniques, policies, and procedures and are subject to the close supervision of the Nursing Coordinator. Must have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing, a cheerful disposition when dealing with residents and families, and a desire to serve.

Pay: From $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
