Role and Responsibilities
A technician’s main role is to assist in providing on call technical support to customers. This includes, but may not be limited to:
- Educating end users on the functionality of newly deployed software and IT equipment
- Researching and diagnosing technical problems by communicating with clients via email/phone
- Installing IT infrastructure and devices at client locations
- Troubleshooting network-wide or system-level hardware and software issues
- Repairing user computers, servers, and other physical electronic devices
- Building and configuring customized computer and software solutions
Additional tasks include:
- Training in new technologies as they emerge
- Taking detailed reports pertaining to services preformed
- Participating in light office cleaning
- Running short errands as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED diploma) is preferred for this position.
