- As a Production Supervisor, you are expected to maintain Grand Prairie’s Core Values in all communications with employees, visitors, outside service providers.
Role
The purpose of the Production Supervisor is to supervise production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures; ensure products are manufactured on schedule, and within quality standards and cost objectives.
Responsibilities
Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures
Coach and develop production employees to improve efficiency and quality of product
Conduct employee performance reviews
Responsible for shift schedule to include workstation assignments / rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations
Coach and take corrective action as needed in accordance with company policies
Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
Schedule and conduct shift meetings
Responsible for meeting shift production goals
Work with QA Dept. to ensure products are being made to customer specifications
Work with QA to ensure proper quality control testing is being performed
Ensures compliance with SQF level code of practice and HACCP regulations and programs
Responsible for quality control. Adjust as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications, rejecting product outside of specifications
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
Communicate with other Leads, Supervisors, and other leaders as necessary
Assure shift paperwork is completed timely and is accurate
Assist in production, as necessary
Monitor manufacturing performance metrics, analyze, and take corrective actions
Champion Lean, improvement, and safety projects
Coach and develop Team Leaders
Understand cost impact and actions
Identify areas for process improvement, implementing to optimize production efficiency
Document and maintain accurate records of necessary data as required by regulation
Adhere to safety regulations and policies
Education & Training Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or food science preferred
Work Experience Requirements
3 years of manufacturing experience
Strong understanding of food safety regulation (HACCP, GMP, USDA, SQF, FDA)
Experience with production machinery and troubleshooting techniques a plus
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
Exposure to variation in temperature
Working with uncooked and cooked egg products
Data entry into computer
Hearing and visual senses required
Microsoft Office
Basic math skills
