Hours : 8 : 30AM - 4 : 30PM, 12 : 30PM - 8 : 30PM
Position Overview :
The Clinician plays a key role in providing confidential counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and communities dealing with mental health challenges and / or addiction. Under the direction of the Program Director / Clinical Director, the Clinician offers services such as assessments, individual, group, and family therapy, and other treatment modalities. These services are delivered in alignment with best practices and client needs to support positive outcomes and healthy lifestyle choices.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct client assessments using validated tools (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7) and diagnose substance use and / or mental health disorders based on the latest DSM criteria.Gather and review relevant client records to support effective treatment planning.Collaborate with clients to develop tailored, client-centered treatment plans that are recovery-focused, incorporating measurable goals and objectives.Provide counseling services as outlined in the client’s treatment plan.Monitor and review client progress regularly using ASAM criteria to determine the need for continued care or potential discharge / transfer.Update treatment plans as necessary to address emerging issues.Facilitate discharge and transfer plans to ensure smooth transitions to appropriate levels of care.Lead individual, group, and psychoeducational therapy sessions, adhering to state regulations and industry standards.Coordinate with referral sources for case consultation and collaboration.Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive client care.Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all clinical activities, including assessments, therapy sessions, referrals, and follow-ups in the client’s medical record.Additional Responsibilities :
Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, substance use, or a related human services field; Master's degree preferred.At least one year of experience in substance use or mental health treatment required.Progress toward clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or related certifications (e.g., CADC, LCADC) preferred.Familiarity with ASAM criteria and experience with treatment organizations in their startup phase is a plus.Core Competencies :
Clinical Expertise : Proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and providing appropriate outpatient care for substance use disorders and mental health conditions.Emergency and Safety Awareness : Ability to follow facility emergency protocols, administer first aid and CPR when needed, and ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.Overdose Prevention : Knowledgeable in identifying overdose symptoms and trained in administering naloxone and other reversal treatments.Suicide Prevention : Recognize suicide risk and effectively apply suicide prevention strategies.Skills and Experience :
