What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computed Tomography Technologist position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Our CT Technologists are responsible for providing computed tomography imaging, performing a variety of imaging procedures and patient care services at defined levels to patients of all ages.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check and prepares patients prior to CT Study
- Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
- Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures.
- Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
- Participates actively in Performance Improvement, Radiation Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Radiological Patient and Physician Education, Continuous Quality Improvement, and other various committee/meetings as assigned.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration in Radiography.
- Associate Degree of applied science in Radiologic Technology and/or Bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences from an AMA approved school preferred.
- ARRT (CT) license required.
- Must have current BLS card within 3 months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
- Prefer one year of professional radiology experience in a hospital patient care setting.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $38.32 - $61.86 Dependent on Experience
- 10% differential in addition to base rate salary
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
