What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Worker position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Performs manual work involving the operation of laundry equipment and assists in laundry record keeping. Washes and dries linens, uniforms and other laundry for Grand River Hospital District (GRHD).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work includes but is not limited to: marking, ironing, folding, transporting, delivering and repairing clothing and linen.
- Ensures all laundry is clean and disinfected.
- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of washer, dryer, ironer, and all laundry chemicals and detergent.
- Must wear proper PPE when necessary.
- Cross trains with other members of the Environmental Services team.
- May at times be required to work shifts in Housekeeping Department.
- Sometimes may need to assist cleaning in public areas includig but not limited to bathrooms, resident rooms, and common areas.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a similar position preferred. Valid Driver’s License and clean DMV record required.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $16.00 - $21.30 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
