What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTION: The primary function of the pharmacist is to provide pharmaceutical services to all Grand River Hospital District (GRHD) services. Compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs per physician’s instructions in a hospital or healthcare facility setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with medical staff about potential drug interactions, patient medical history, and the use of particular medications.
- Responds to questions from patients and staff about medications and dosage instructions.
- Ensures that all required pharmacy data is recorded and maintained and complies with all regulatory, security and hospital procedures.
- May supervise pharmacy technicians.
- Performance of these professional functions is generally associated with the practice of pharmacy in the institutional setting.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- Must be licensed by the State of Colorado Board of Pharmacy to practice pharmacy.
- Requires minimum of two years’ experience in hospital pharmacy.
- Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency may be used for the experience requirement.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $74.71 - $79.36 Dependent on Experience
- 10% differential in addition to base rate salary
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
