What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTION: Serves as a member of the Rehabilitative Services department at our state-of-the-art Care Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Administers treatments to reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function and prevent disability for our residents.
- Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration for residents.
- Reviews each patient chart prior to scheduled services.
- Prepares residents, patients and equipment for therapy and implements treatment plans as instructed, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment.
- Records resident reactions to treatment and provides status reports at the end of each treatment.
- Documents and completes resident notes and records changes in the system in accordance with department standard practices and as instructed.
- Makes inquiries regarding residents when they do not arrive for scheduled services and documents contacts in accordance with department standard practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires Colorado licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Current BLS certification upon initial employment and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in a Rehabilitative Services setting preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $28.35 - $34.56 Dependent on Experience
- 10% differential in addition to base rate salary
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
