What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Nurse position at Grand River Health?
BASIC FUNCTION: The Quality Assurance Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring that Grand River Health provides safe, effective and high quality patient care. Position is responsible for evaluating and improving clinical practices, protocols and processes to enhance patient outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Supports clinical process improvement and works with QI Teams to capture and analyze data.
- Analyzes quality assurance and compliance data and assists in preparing reports.
- Works with project teams to develop and improve clinical and non-clinical program measurement systems.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of quality improvement principals and theories to study, design and evaluate clinical programs and processes to identify opportunities for improving the delivery of healthcare services.
- Works in collaboration with the Case Management Coordinator to coordinate the overall interdisciplinary plan of care for patients, from admission to discharge. May provide support to utilization review program for clinical expertise and management.
- Works as a collaborative member of interdepartmental teams as needed to develop data reports necessary to manage and measure care processes and clinical qualifications.
- Works in coordination with Medical Staff to develop clinical practice summary reports to track outcomes.
- Monitors external web-sites to assure accurate data.
- Works collaboratively with Information Technology and Systems Departments.
- Participates in training programs and departmental meetings.
- Distributes and receives information in a variety of formats including phone, email, and fax.
- Assists with development and execution of special projects as assigned.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a current Colorado Registered Nurse license.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent preferred.
- Must have current BLS card and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
- Minimum 5 years overall nursing experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in management in a hospital setting preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $39.00 - $45.00 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
