Grand Slam Track is a premier global professional track league featuring matchups between the fastest stars in the sport. Founded by track legend Michael Johnson, the league will host four annual Slams taking place between April and September, with eight Racers competing in one of 12 event groups. At the beginning of each season, four Racers per group make the starting roster to contest each Slam. The next four Racers in each group are the Challengers, whose recent performances unlock a lane to the most compelling head-to-head clashes on earth. Each athlete will compete twice over the course of the weekend with the best combined placing determining the Slam champion.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Manager of Systems and Data Analysis to lead the development, collection, and distribution of in-race and athlete metrics within our Track League. This role is pivotal in delivering real-time insights and engaging data-driven stories to media and announcers, while also addressing the league’s broader data and reporting requirements. You will also spearhead the design and implementation of a comprehensive data product for media professionals, allowing real-time querying and use of athlete and race data. You will manage and implement enterprise systems for employee use, streamline internal reporting, and provide actionable insights to social, digital, and business operations teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis and Real-Time Insights (50%):
- Define key in-race metrics and KPIs to monitor athlete performance and race dynamics.
- Lead the design and development of a real-time data product for media and announcers, enabling access to race and athlete statistics during live events.
- Collaborate with data engineers to establish efficient data collection, integration, and architecture supporting real-time and historical analysis.
- Ensure data quality and integrity for all race and athlete-related datasets, implementing robust quality control measures.
- Develop automated, interactive reporting dashboards to deliver real-time insights for internal teams, including marketing, digital, and social media departments.
- Provide analytics and data-driven recommendations to support strategic decisions across all league business functions.
Enterprise Systems Management (50%):
- Oversee the implementation and management of off-the-shelf enterprise systems, focusing on solutions for athlete management, travel coordination, and back-office operations.
- Implement enterprise-level reporting solutions (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to support internal reporting and analytics for social, digital, and business operations teams.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions into the league's digital and operational platforms.
- Act as a liaison between various departments to understand system needs and develop strategic roadmaps for enterprise system enhancements.
- Manage the reporting and presentation of key metrics to league executives, sponsors, and partners, ensuring clear and impactful communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related role, preferably within sports analytics or a live sports environment.
- Proficiency in enterprise data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience working with real-time data and understanding of cloud-based data architecture and querying.
- Strong understanding of in-race analytics and performance metrics for athletes.
- Ability to work with large datasets, performing complex analysis to derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with data engineers, analysts, and business teams
Preferred
- Experience in sports leagues or media broadcasting.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming languages used for data manipulation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience developing and managing APIs for data access.

- Salary range between $120k-$150k bonus opportunity
