Maintenance Assistant Part Time

Grand South is a privately-owned, newly built upscale senior living facility located in Dothan, Alabama. The beautiful, state-of-the-art facility has 80 apartments (40 in the Assisted Living, and 40 Memory Care/SCALF). Position Responsibilities

· Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, provide preventive maintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.

· Performs a variety of skilled maintenance for building, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Lights, heaters, and appliances.

· Performs maintenance and within area of expertise including, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting and in accordance to accepted codes

· Ensure strict adherence to community fire safety and hazardous chemical procedures, promptly address all unsafe conditions or equipment problems

· Perform floor care on an ongoing basis, including carpeting in resident apartments and common areas of the community

· Drives facility vehicle for resident transport on a regular weekly schedule

· Remove trash gathered by housekeepers and caregivers on a daily basis

· Maintain grounds in a professional, well-groomed manner by performing grounds maintenance on a regular basis or working with a landscape company to maintain grounds in an appropriate manner

· Preforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education and Experience

· Diploma/GED Equivalent

· Vocational or Trade School degree in general maintenance or two years of experience in carpentry, electrical or painting work

· Experience working is senior living preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Experience:

• Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License, and clear driving record (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Dothan, AL 36303: Relocate before starting work (Required)
