Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, inpatient care, and emergency medicine. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of clients while promoting their independence.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Monitor and document clients' health status, reporting any changes to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with mobility and transportation needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare providers to develop personalized care plans.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations within the home setting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related healthcare field preferred; experience in medical-surgical units, OR, or hospital medicine is a plus.
- Familiarity with pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or teaching hospitals is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and transferring clients as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
