Job Summary
As an In Home Caregiver, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their homes, ensuring they maintain a high quality of life. This role requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of clients, particularly those with medical needs. You will work closely with clients to assist them with daily living activities and provide companionship.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Provide medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed health regimens.
- Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor client health status and report any changes to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical conditions related to geriatrics, including but not limited to PICU, hospital medicine, medical-surgical care, inpatient care, emergency medicine, clinic settings, OR experience, teaching hospitals, and Level I Trauma Centers is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties such as lifting or transferring clients safely.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory.
