Recruiting a highly motivated physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our Orthopaedic Trauma team at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Job responsibilities include:
- Preoperative assessment, intra-operative assistance, and postoperative care in the hospital
- Preoperative evaluation, postoperative followup, and on-going care in the clinical setting
- Daily rounds, document notes, writing new orders and discharge instructions
- Consults in hospital
- Surgical First Assist to Othopaedic Surgeon for elective cases and when on Trauma call
- 6 call days per month
- Orthopaedic experience preferred
- Strong work ethic with an ability to adapt to a variety of work responsibilities
- Self-motivated to learn and work independently
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program
- Have a South Carolina license or the ability to get a South Carolina license prior to starting (license should not be restricted by patients age, must have the ability to legally see patients from Birth - Death)
- 403 bed tertiary referral center
- Largest and most clinically advanced hospital in the area
- ACS verified Level I adult trauma center
- DHEC approved Level II pediatric trauma center
- 4 emergency departments
- Pediatric ER
- DNV-GL certified comprehensive stroke center
- Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI
- Only provider of open-heart surgery in the area
- Inpatient and outpatient behavioral health unit
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Maternity center with Level II neonatal nursery and maternal fetal medicine for high-risk moms
- ACGME accredited residency programs with six residences (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, and a Transitional Program) and two fellowships (Hospice and Palliative Medicine and coming soon, Endocrinology)
