Responsible for answering extremely high phone volumes, emergency calls and managing contacting personnel for emergency situations. The operators role is under the direct supervision and direction of the Lead PBX Operator and Director of Emergency Services.

Job Summary:
Responsible for answering extremely high phone volumes, emergency calls and managing contacting personnel for emergency situations. The operators role is under the direct supervision and direction of the Lead PBX Operator and Director of Emergency Services.
- Answers and triages extremely high phone volumes.
- Processes emergency calls by coordinating caller with responding parties in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Monitors and response to alerts routed from emergency equipment.
- Responsible for contacting personnel for emergency management situations such as mass casualties and hurricanes.
- Maintains and utilize a tiered, in-depth database of on-call staff for clinical/hospital areas.
- Maintains and updates personnel and departmental listings for the online quarterly directory.
- Regularly reviews backup procedures to assure swift changeover should the main system fail.
- Accurately maintains a log of emergent patient, and international calls.
- Maintains competencies and stays abreast of all policy and procedural changes.
- Uses decision trees to determine the proper on call team to differentials physician-requested calls.
- Ability to quickly and accurately manage emergency calls.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1 years of experience in a medical setting preferred
- 1 years of experience in operation of multi line telephone experience preferred
