What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technologist position at Grand Strand Medical Center?
This position performs MRI exams by showcasing expertise in the safe operation of MRI imaging and accessory equipment.
In collaboration with Radiologists, Radiology Physician Assistants, and other physicians and staff, you will enhance patient care through your knowledge of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI exams according to established protocols on various body parts efficiently.
- Complete pre-exam screening, greet patients, assist with gowns, complete history forms, and stock rooms with required supplies.
- Verify and follow doctor's orders in patient charts, initial patient charts when exams are complete, start/remove IVs as needed, and safely administer contrast media with power injectors.
- Transport patients to and from ER and other Imaging areas when assistants are unavailable, move patients on and off exam tables, and organize patient exams for optimal workflow.
- Communicate effectively with customers β physicians, coworkers, patients, and their families.
Qualifications:
- A graduate of an AMA-approved Radiography program is required.
- RT and MR certification from ARRT is necessary.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Tech and 2 years of MRI experience are highly preferred.
