What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kids Club Attendant (Full and Part-Time Seasonal) Summer 2025 position at GRAND TARGHEE RESORT LLC?
SUMMARY
This position is for someone who is passionate about working with kids. Being responsible for the safety and well-being of children in the care of the Kids Club ranging in age from 1 year to 6 yrs. Communicate with and provide feedback to parents, supervisors and staff regarding the activities of children being cared for. Provide input to improve the overall quality of services offered in the Kids Club. Organize creative activities, games and arts and crafts. Ensure health and safety standards outlined in State Child Care Manual. Take reservations and perform cashiering duties. Perform daily duties including but not limited to: feeding, sleeping/ resting/changing children. Cleaning all areas of the Kid’s Club facility. Must have good guest service skills and the ability to work with children and adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Keep all Kid’s Club children safe by being responsible and diligent.
- Note Kid’s Club children behavior and actions, be able to convey those back to a supervisor and/ or parent.
- Create games, activities, crafts ect. to keep children entertained and learning.
- Dress and clean up children, make sure they have appropriate clothing for the activities they are performing.
- Cleaning the Kid’s Club facility.
- Taking reservations and handling money.
- Create an environment that encourages exploration and learning that parents and children trust.
- Keep calm in moments of stress.
- Treat kids, parents, and staff with kindness and respect.
- Age-appropriate communication with kids.
- Perform duties daily including but not limited to: feeding, changing of diapers, dressing and undressing children for skiing and/or outdoor play.
- Use positive reinforcement strategies with children.
- Monitor sleeping/resting children.
- Take reservations and perform cashiering duties.
- Follow the dress code.
- Maintain professionalism in all situations.
- Complete all opening and closing procedures each day.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Completion of eight (8) hours of continuing education required annually. Must have knowledge of laws and legal issues involving child care. High School diploma or a general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current child/ infant CPR and First Aid cards or participation in training provided by the resort or be enrolled in a training program off property within 1 month of date of hire required.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have the ability and desire to work with infants, toddlers and school aged children.
- Must have a TB test performed or assessment completed, background check and fingerprints.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if needed. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
