The Human Resource Generalist will run/support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, supporting pay administration, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants in collaboration with hiring managers for open positions. Works with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Creates job postings on external job sites and appropriate third party systems to effectively hire staff.
- Assists with planning and implementation of new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Processes updates within the HRIS system including but not limited to job changes, salary changes, personal information updates, etc.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Assists employee housing staff during peak check-in and check-out times.
- Assist with projects related to technology integration and HRIS implementation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- At least one year of human resource management experience required. Two or more years of human resource management experience highly preferred.
- SHRM-CP a plus.
