What are the responsibilities and job description for the County Highway Engineering Manager - Road Commission position at Grand Traverse County Road Commission?
The Grand Traverse County Road Commission is looking for a County Highway Engineering Manager ready to play a key role in designing, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure that keeps our community moving. The County Highway Engineering Manager directs and coordinates the small but mighty Engineering Team. This position reports directly to the Manager of the Road Commission.

Grand Traverse County is located in Northern Michigan, bordering the shores of Lake Michigan, and is known for its picturesque scenery, vibrant arts and foodie scene, and abundant outdoor activities.
Who we are looking for:
We are searching for someone to collaborate with multiple departments in the organization. The ideal candidate will be motivated by managing multiple projects, solving problems with their team and outside contractors, and creating safe and efficient road designs and plans.
- Graduate with an Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Five or more years of experience in road design and construction management and knowledge of MDOT standards
- Personnel management experience preferred
