In the summer, the County Road Maintenance Workers of Grand Traverse County enjoy a four-day work week, 4 - 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday. The Road Maintenance Workers work on the maintenance of the County roads, including, but not limited to, tree and brush removal, flagging, highway and street repairs, pothole patching, repair of drainage systems, and winter snow removal. This role will safely use a chainsaw, locate utilities, set grades, and understand basic survey equipment. GTCRC is a safety-focused organization that uses equipment and technology to assist in these duties. In the winter, Road Maintenance Workers often work overtime, early mornings and late nights, keeping our roads safe and removing snow and ice.
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in a hands-on role and can comfortably drive a truck for hours at a time in the winter. This position requires someone who likes variety in their job duties and wants to make a difference in our community by keeping our road system safe and efficient.
This job is located in beautiful Northern Michigan, home to miles of shoreline and trails, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
