What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Program Manager position at Grand Traverse Industries?

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by helping them achieve their highest level of independence, earn a paycheck, build life skills, grow relationships with peers, and engage with the community. The Day Program Manager develops engaging sensory activities, outings, and programming for their team members with special needs. This is a direct care position, and applicants must feel comfortable with toileting, feeding and ambulating team members. Responsibilities also include leading engaging activities and supervising community outings.
This is a full time, 40hr a week position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Lunch breaks are paid. We offer benefits that include health, dental, and vision insurance, in addition to a fantastic vacation accrual program. If you choose to decline company medical insurance, you will also be paid an extra $100 monthly above and beyond your regular wages. Paid holidays include Black Friday!
Pay range for this position is $17.00-$20.50 hourly.
We also provide an opportunity to become certified with the National Association of Direct Support Professionals. If you complete all three steps of the certification process, you will be given a $3,900 bonus!

The ideal candidate for this position is a unique individual who has a desire for supporting individuals with disabilities to socialize and develop new skills. They must be detail oriented and thrive helping others succeed.
Qualifications / Physical requirements:
- Experience working with DD and/or MI adults is preferred
- Possess a valid driver's license; be able to drive company vehicles with or without passenger
- Pass a background check
- The position may require direct care including extended lifting and transferring of non-ambulatory clients, and providing total assistance with personal hygiene and eating
- Ability to achieve and maintain training and certifications
- Basic computer usage/ knowledge
- High school diploma and must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Pass a background check
