What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Condo Supervisor (FT) position at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa?
SUMMARY
This position is directly responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all condos in each complex and the supervision of the Condo Room Attendants and Linen Porters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Vehicles should be kept clean inside at all times and proper care should be taken care of them. If any damage occurs to a vehicle, Security must be notified.
Update all room information by notifying the housekeeping office every hour on busy days, to ensure all condos are available for new guest by 4:00 p.m.
If linen is needed through out the day, call an order in to laundry and linen porters will get what is needed.
Inform linen porters of any cleaning or amenities supplies you are out of.
Inform office of any dirty windows or carpets needing attention in any unit or condominium complex.
Complete all assignments requested of you.
Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
Maintain open line of communication with supervisor.
Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort. (Green mission statement, etc.)
Monitor OSHA standards and promote a safe environment for all housekeeping staff.
Maintain accurate records of all rooms that are cleaned and file appropriately.
Complete and submit any required reports or paperwork accurately and on time.
Responsible to see that all maintenance problems are called into the office and turned in to Engineering in a timely fashion.
Responsible for verifying housekeeping carts and linen closets are fully stocked and cleaned.
Must be willing to help in any area of housekeeping that you are needed.
Responsible for all public space in your areas.
Thoroughly inspect each room after Room Attendants have cleaned them, being sure rooms are cleaned to standard before releasing them to the Front Desk. The units belong to owners. Exhibit great pride before releasing to the front desk.
Consistently present a professional image to Grand Traverse Resort and Spa (GTRS) staff and its guests
Assist in answering incoming calls and directing to the proper areas, and to keep an accurate phone log of all calls to insure each duty is taken care of properly.
Assist in control of Lost and Found/Uniform room.
Assure that the master keys, radios and pagers are returned to the proper areas and investigate if any are missing.
Maintain the files and regulations of GTRS housekeeping department.
Maintain and support high morale of the House Persons and Room Attendants.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have 2 years previous supervisory experience
Prefer 6 months previous housekeeping experience
Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the Resort’s plan.

Must have pleasant and tactful personality as there will be frequent contact with other employees and guests
Must have demonstrated ability to make decisions as well as openly support decisions/direction from GTRS management
Must have excellent multi-tasking, organization, and communication skills

Must enjoy and work well with others.
Must possess excellent time management skills and be comfortable with meeting firm deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If applicable)
Will plan, supervise and be accountable for all employees’ daily activities. Is expected to Evaluate, Motivate, Delegate, Discipline and Counsel employees assigned.

Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ear pieces must be worn at all times so as to not interfere with ours guests stay.
Ability to drive comfortably in high traffic/weather conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Needs to be comfortable working with a lot of people at one time. Very fast paced environment.
COMMENTS
Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and an drug test as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
