What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Seasonal) Bag Attendant position at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for greeting golfing guests with a smile, carry and clean golf clubs, and place them on a clean golf cart upon a guest’s arrival. It is also responsible for greeting the guests with friendly conversation at the conclusion of their round, cleaning their clubs and placing the clubs in their proper place; the car, bag drop or club storage area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet golfers at the bag drop or in the parking lot as they arrive
Load player’s clubs on clean golf car provided with pencil, tees, full sand bottle, full ball washer and towel
Direct players to the pro shop or other areas necessary
Clean and store golf cars, rental clubs, guest clubs and rental shoes
Organize and maintain condition of golf cars, rental clubs and rental shoes
Record the use of rental equipment and to ensure that the equipment is returned in good condition
Give positive impression of operation to guests as they arrive and to make sure guest leaves with a that impression
Be prompt, ready, and very polite when you greet guests
Responsible for loading and unloading guests clubs
Clean all clubs as guests arrive and leave.
To assist in guest and member bag storage
Clean spike rack as needed
Check practice range, pick up range balls when necessary, and to stock balls for starters
Empty all returnable cans/bottles and place in proper location
Clean trash cans out at the end of the day
Count all golf cars at the end of the day and to inform Security of any are missing after completing a property search
Pick up balls from driving range throughout and at the end of the day
Wash all range balls every night
Maintain good rapport with fellow employees and reflect positive attitude.
Complete all assignments requested of you.
Keep entire work area clean and organized at all times
Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
Maintain open line of communication with supervisor.
Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the Resort.
Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Director of Golf Operations or Outside Supervisor
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Previous knowledge of golf course operations and etiquette preferred. Customer service experience helpful.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Walking, running, and standing for long periods of time may be encountered in this position.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
May encounter customer complaints and must be able to resolve in the proper manner with tact and professionalism. Will encounter very busy periods where many people using bag drop or arriving for golf at the same time, must be able to methodically deal with this demand.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is primarily outside and requires working in conditions including hot and cold temperatures, rain, snow, and wind. The hours for this position vary and can range anywhere from 5:00 am until 11:00 pm.
COMMENTS
Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug test as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality
