    SUMMARY

    Provides constant video surveillance and reports accurate and factual information for casino and tribal asset protection.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Observe and report accurate information; summarizing the relevant details of an event in a concise and factual manner.
  • Monitor all areas that are designated as essential coverage areas to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in the confidential investigations of customers and employees for fraud, theft, embezzlement or other misconduct.
  • Learn all gaming procedures in order to analyze activities for suspicious, unusual, or undesirable play.
  • Operate the CCTV system to monitor all gaming and non-gaming areas.
  • Maintain appropriate logs, reports, and records of illegal activity.
  • Use of game protection skills.
  • Utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive data and other important information such as policies and procedures and other gaming reference tools in order to reach an informed decision.
  • Utilize Synkros, ID Point, EVERI, and other casino programs.
  • Work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Surveillance Management.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written. Must be team player with a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be willing and able to learn programs specific to surveillance operations.
  • Must be able to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner by prioritizing obligations and time. Must be able to make sound decisions under pressure. The needs for quickness and ease of adjustment to the work environment and flexibility to change are essential in this position.
  • Must possess the ability to work with various personalities while maintaining impartiality.
  • Must have good mathematical skills in order to add, subtract, divide, and multiply.
  • Must be willing to take responsibility when asked and to adhere to the strictest confidentiality.
  • Must assist in maintaining a clean office environment.
  • Must respond to supervisory guidance and assignments and accept feedback in order to learn new, updated information.
  • EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of a high school diploma, a GED or equivalent experience. Some college is preferred.

    Minimum of 1-2 years gaming experience. Non-gaming Surveillance experience may be considered.

    Must have a complete understanding of the policies and procedures of each department and Gaming Operations in general.

    Basic understanding of casino gaming systems.

    Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    None

    EQUIPMENT TO BE USED

    Digital Recording System, cameras, CCTV system components, video monitors, audio equipment, multi-line phone, fax machine, key pad, and special equipment related to surveillance, copier machine and video printer / scanner.

    SOFTWARE TO BE USED

    Synkros, ID Point, Internet Browser, EVERI, ADP, Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Viewing black and white or color monitors for extended periods of time. May be required to lift up to 25 to 37 lbs. and able to sit and / or stand for long periods of time. May also be required to reach, bend, stretch, crawl, lift, kneel, and carry on occasion. Will be required to see, hear, and listen on a daily basis and therefore possess normal or corrected levels of ability for each.

    TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

    Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines. Must be able to make quick, informed decisions while under pressure.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Must be able and willing to work in a crowded, loud smoking environment. Must be able to handle being under constant surveillance. Must practice all safety policies, procedures and standards as set by OSHA. Will perform job duties in a small, enclosed room with low level lighting. Work area is warm and cold at times due to the dissipation of the equipment.

    COMMENTS

    Native American and Tribal Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug and alcohol urinalysis as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality. Due to the nature of this position, no lateral transfers will be allowed for current surveillance employees to non-supervisory casino positions. Only transfers to supervisory roles or above will be considered. In addition, former surveillance employees must wait 12 months from their leave date before being able to apply for non-supervisory casino positions.
