Life Enrichment Director – Full-Time Position
Grand View Care Center, Skilled Nursing Facility
Grand View Care Center, a 50-bed Skilled Nursing Facility and 12-bed Community Based Residential Facility, is seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Director. Our facility provides long-term care as well as short-term rehabilitation services to our surrounding communities.
As Life Enrichment Director, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing a diverse activity program that supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of both our rehabilitation and long-term care residents. You will also manage and supervise the Life Enrichment team to ensure the program's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess individual resident needs and interests to develop a comprehensive recreational program.
- Coordinate and lead a variety of activities, such as reality orientation, current events discussions, re-motivation therapy, and more.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of residents' recreational needs and preferences.
- Complete required assessments, including MDS and care plans.
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage our volunteer program.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
- Must have a passion for and experience working with the elderly, along with a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent organizational abilities.
- An Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor’s degree and Certified as a Recreational Therapist or Certified as an Activities Professionals.
- At least one year of experience working in a senior care community.
- Experience working with residents diagnosed with Dementia is highly desirable.
- Experience in volunteer recruitment and training is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with management, staff, residents, family members, and external contacts.
- Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems.
- Open to exploring new approaches and incorporating them into existing practices as needed.
The Life Enrichment Director reports directly to the Administrator.
CNA certification is a plus!
Wage is based on experience. Previous Life Enrichment / Activities experience preferred.
