Schedule: Part Time, Days, Non-Benefit Eligible - 1 day/week & every 3rd weekend
Responsibilities
Under the administrative direction of the Grand View Urgent Care LLC and the Urgent Care Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician functions in the Urgent Care Center to support and assist the staff in providing care to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.Essential Functions:
- Assists patients entering the Urgent Care treatment area.
- Assists in preparation of patients for examination.
- Obtains and documents vital signs and measures and records visual acuity.
- Performs and documents blood glucose monitoring.
- Performs and documents urine reagent testing and other waived tests applicable to patient care.
- Performs wound cleansing.
- Prepares equipment and supplies for laceration repair.
- Applies dressings, splints and orthopedic appliances; measures for crutches.
- Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Performs venipuncture with or without placement of angiocath.
- Restocks and cleans patient care areas.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- High school diploma/GED required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire required.
