What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acute Care APP, Level II Trauma position at Grand View Hospital?
Responsibilities
Grand View Health is a Level II trauma center. The APPs work synergistically with the trauma surgeons, to cover a 24/7 service line. The Adult certificed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant working for the Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care department, shall deliver comprehensive patient care for this designated patient population throughout the care continuum. The APP will function as a clinical expert for this population and will work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary and inter-professional team to coordinate and deliver all aspects of care, including initial resuscitation, intensive care management, and discharge planning. The APP will perform patient assessments and coordinate patient management autonomously, with physician collaboration and supervision as appropriate, and in accordance with hospital policies and Pennsylvania State legislation. The APP's scope of practice includes the following elements: direct patient care, medical and procedural intervention, operative first assistance, education, performance and quality improvement. Robotic experience/certification in the OR is a plus but will train.Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in Nursing required Physician Assistant - Certified LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Nurse Practitioner Licensed in PA, Upon hire, required or Physician Assistant - Certified, upon hire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Upon hire, required Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Upon hire, required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Upon hire, preferred ATLS- enrollment in course, Upon hire, required Meditech EMR experience a plus, but will train.
