The Grounds Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds whether through flowers, irrigation, upkeep or other form of landscaping.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Follows direction regarding landscaping projects
- Timely completes assigned landscaping/grounds maintenance tasks
- Maintains open and positive communication with all other departments, one’s supervisor(s) and co-workers.
- Maintains vehicles, Identifies supply needs, and may assist in ordering
- Works as a team with grounds crew and/or other department employees on assignments
- Maintains safe work habits and uses all safety precautions recommended for each tool or machinery in order to maintain a safe work environment
- Other duties may be assigned
Job Requirements:
- General knowledge and working ability in landscaping, irrigation, horticulture
- Ability to manage time well, meet imposed deadlines and ability to work flexible hours
- The position requires the ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally.
- This position requires the ability to stand, walk (6-7 hours at a time), and climb stairs, reach & bend.
- The position requires that the employee be able to read basic chemical labels and write in complete sentences in submitting reports and assessments.
- For year-round work (specifically in winter season), must have valid drivers’ license (If a different state, must be eligible to obtain appropriate license for state of operation)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Microsoft Office experience required (Excel proficiency highly preferred)
- Valid drivers’ license for use of company vehicles may be required
