What are the responsibilities and job description for the WRANGLER position at Grand View Lodge?
Position Overview:
A Wrangler must be dedicated to ensuring we have healthy horses able to be utilized in a manner producing a safe, exciting, fun environment for our guest riders. Involved in daily horse, saddle and tack care. Care, cleaning and maintaining of our horse stable spaces. The role is responsible for creating excellent, memorable guest service to all guests while maintaining outstanding professionalism that reflects the Company’s expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Daily horse care, saddling and tack maintenance
- Greeting guests, taking out rides and participating in cattle drives
- Visiting/mingling with guests when appropriate
- Basic ranch maintenance (minor fence work, grounds keeping, ensuring a tidy appearance)
- Flexible schedule and availability (including Holidays and weekends)
- Other duties may be assigned
Job Requirements:
- Ability to manage time well, meet imposed deadlines and ability to work flexible hours
- Comfort with repetitive tasks on a daily basis
- The position requires the ability to lift over 80 pounds occasionally.
- This position requires the ability to stand, walk (6-7 hours at a time), and climb stairs, reach & bend.
- The position requires that the employee be able to read basic chemical labels and write in complete sentences in submitting reports and assessments.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED or one (1) year equivalent experience
- Horse riding/training/maintenance experience required
- Valid drivers’ license for use of company vehicles may be required for certain roles
