Hall Director
The Department of Residence Life at Grand View University is now accepting applications for the Hall Director position for the current Spring 2025 semester. A Hall Director will live on campus and be responsible for the development and support of the learning environment in the residence halls of 104-230 students. A Hall Director has direct supervision of 4-7 Resident Assistants with the opportunity to work with other student life departments. Specific duties include: a commitment to student interaction and mentoring; programmatic support; personal conflict intervention and crisis management; judicial administration; participating in the on-call duty rotation; coordinating maintenance and facility issues; and other related duties as assigned.
Hall Directors have flexible hours during the work week and are required to be available to work some evenings and weekends. This will be a 10 or 12 month position during the year, working approximately 30 hours per week.
Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree. Successful candidates can demonstrate experience working with student leaders, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work independently while collaborating to achieve the goals of the Department of Residence Life and Grand View University.
The Hall Director position is a full time, live-in position with a furnished apartment, reserved parking spot, meal plan, cell phone reimbursement, internet, free laundry, Grand View graduate tuition assistance, and a benefits package. This is an hourly position, but compensation is expected to be approximately $18,000-$20,000 for the 10-month position and $25,000-$27,000 for the 12-month position. Hall Directors are allowed to have approved pets.
