Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional, personable, and career-driven Front of House Manager to lead our team in delivering an exceptional experience to every member and guest. This individual will be responsible for creating a warm, welcoming environment while supervising all front-of-house personnel during dining hours and special events. The ideal candidate is highly visible and engaged, committed to excellence in service, and thrives in a fast paced member-focused setting.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure Outstanding Member Experience – Create a warm, welcoming environment and maintain high service standards at all times
- Train and Develop Staff – Onboard new team members and provide ongoing coaching to maintain professionalism and efficiency. This includes daily supervision, schedule management
- Manage Daily Operations – Coordinate reservations, table assignments, dining flow, and cleanliness of front-of-house areas.
- Maintain Communication with Back of House – Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and resolve any issues quickly.
- Handle Member Feedback and Concerns – Address complaints or special requests with professionalism and care. Communicate all with the Director of Food and Beverage
- Event Execution – Setup, staffing, and service during private events, banquets, and club functions. Work Directly with the Catering Manager to ensure the Banquet Event Order is being followed
- Schedule and Manage Labor – Create staff schedules based on business needs, ensuring adequate coverage while managing labor
- Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Standards – Monitor cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to club policies and regulations.
- Be a Visible Leader on the Floor – Lead by example, staying actively present during service, building rapport with members and guests, and monitoring the facility for any maintenance issues. Report any broken or damaged items to ensure a seamless guest experience and maintain club standards.
- Collaborate on Menu Design and Feedback – Work with the Executive Chef and F&B team to gather member input and contribute to menu updates and specials.
- Conduct Monthly Inventory – Maintain accurate counts of front-of-house supplies, including glassware, linens, and beverages, ensuring cost control and readiness.
- Coordinate Wine Society and Beverage Programming – Assist in planning and executing wine dinners, tastings, and educational events for members.
- Develop Events with Leadership Team – Partner with the Executive Chef, Catering Manager, and Food & Beverage Director to plan and execute quarterly themed events and unique dining experiences.
- Foster Opportunities for Growth – Encourage ongoing education and skill development for staff, with opportunities to expand knowledge of menu offerings, à la carte service, wine, and spirits.
Education/Experience:
Two years of management experience in a private club, resort, or full-service restaurant is preferred. Successful candidates will be dependable, polished, and thrive in a collaborative setting, bringing strong interpersonal and communication skills to the team. A degree in hospitality management is not required but is valued when paired with relevant experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, sits, talks and hears; regularly uses hands, tastes and smells. Regularly reaches with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, and crouches. Occasionally climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in wet or humid outdoor weather conditions, near mechanical moving parts, near fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
Food Safety and Applicable Sanitation Training. Alcohol Awareness Training.
ServSafe Manager Certificate Preferred
Valid Driver’s License required for Beverage Cart
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and POS systems.
- Possesses up-to date knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits.
