What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Grandma Hoerner's Foods, Inc.?
The Quality Assurance Technician position is of great significance in the Grandma Hoerner’s organization as they are responsible for monitoring and testing for quality control of food products and packaging under the direction and leadership of Technical Services Management. This requires the ability to coordinate and plan with multiple other key positions and departments. They work in collaboration with the Technical Services Team and Operations Team to ensure the food safety and quality of all products at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Production area monitoring and testing for quality control of food products and packaging.
- Perform various quality checks during pre-production, during production, and post-production. Escalate concerns, as needed.
- Follow outlined procedures to conduct quality control testing of hot fill products and inspect product being produced for any quality defects and documentation inaccuracy.
- · Monitor product to ensure the prevention of cross contamination.
- · Maintain a thorough knowledge of GH FSQ Policies, and how they apply to the production line. Provide employee coaching on deviations, as needed.
- Use equipment appropriately for sampling, weighing, metal detection, and temperature monitoring to provide assurances of accuracy and consistency.

- · Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- · Hot working conditions and the ability to stand for a duration of time to perform duties.
- · Physical demands: Position requires frequent lifting, walking, reaching, standing, climbing, bending, wet flooring, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to food grade chemicals and moderate noise levels.
