Job Summary
Holds a general responsibility for refrigeration, industrial kitchen equipment and packaging equipment with an emphasis on freeze-dryers. Responsible for effective/efficient operation of the equipment along with repairs, troubleshooting, installation and preventative maintenance of the equipment and systems. The Maintenance Technician collaborates to maintain operational efficiency, manage spare parts inventory, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Shift:
Monday-Friday 7am – 3:30pm with availability for emergency machine repair
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, installation and preventative maintenance of company’s high-end freeze-drying operation, refrigeration equipment, and related systems, including misc. kitchen equipment and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Adhere to and enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols.
- Completing emergency repairs when necessary to offset downtime and production delays.
- Is available for emergency call-backs as required and is flexible toward work hours including weekends or plant shutdown periods.
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of three or more years related job experience a plus
- Experience with PLC and HVAC
- Refrigeration (EPA Universal Card)
- Familiarity and use of refrigeration test equipment
- Familiarity and use of vacuum test equipment
- Familiarity with piping and brazing
- Basic understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical instructions
- Familiarity and use of hand tools
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
- Electrical/Electronic knowledge
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs
- Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
- Self-motivated.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Maintain clean work area and warehouse at all times
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours a day
- The ability to read and write in English

- Fork-lift experience a plus

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
