Position Overview:
As a Kitchen Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring our products are mixed and blended accurately and of the best quality. This position has an important role in the operations team, working closely with the Operations Manager. They must ensure that the high standards of the company are maintained and that the recipes are perfect and meet the high standards our customers expect.
Shift:
Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead and motivate the mixing team
The Mixing Team Lead will give direction to mixing staff. They will ensure that the team is happy, productive and appropriately trained on proper blending, on the machinery they are using and on the quality and production standards. They will closely monitor all recipes being made and ensure ingredients match the approved quality levels. Any abnormalities will immediately be communicated to the Operations Manager. The Mixing Team Lead will be accountable for the actions of their team and will coordinate and lead the mixing team to achieve or exceed production and quality goals.
2. Monitor mixing operations
While working in the department, they must oversee the mixing process and ensure it runs smoothly. The Mixing Team Lead will communicate with the Operations Manager regarding any issues that impact mixing. The Mixing Team Lead is responsible for monitoring inventory levels of all dry ingredients and supplies and ensure mixing lines are adequately stocked to support uninterrupted production. They will assure all inventories are taken as requested.
3. Strong communication
The Mixing Lead will maintain constant and consistent communication with the Operations Manager to keep them informed of any bottlenecks during production.
4. Maintain a safe environment for staff
Maintaining a safe environment for employees is an important responsibility of the Mixing Team Lead. They must maintain employee safety by assuring that all safety protocols are implemented and help to ensure all machinery and environment is safe for employees to use.
5. Help the company meet its regulatory obligations
The Mixing Team Lead must help the company meet regulatory obligations required by government bodies such as the Food Safety Plan approved by the FDA.
6. Ensure quality control processes are completed
The Mixing Team Lead will ensure QC processes are correctly implemented and that quality is maintained throughout the packaging process to ensure all quality standards are met or exceeded.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete reports and follow SOPs
- Must follow safety procedures
- Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Provide support to other areas of production as needed

Required Qualifications
- Speaks Spanish
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve

Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years mixing, blending and leadership experience
- Self-Starter: Inspired to perform without outside help
