Job Description
The Trade Compliance Coordinator supports our growing export business and will work directly with our clients to manage those relationships. This position plays a critical role in assisting with organizing and optimizing our customs compliance operations
The Trade Compliance Coordinator provides us with import/export regulatory direction including researching and analyzing information to support the development and implementation of effective compliance policies and procedures. This position also applies existing rules and regulations to the our processes to ensure compliance which includes the preparation and submission of required filings and reporting documentation. The Trade Compliance Coordinator provides strategic guidance and education to management on import/export compliance issues and has an important voice in setting our global goals and procedures. The position functions in a very strong corporate culture of compliance management and relationship management to ensure export growth. This position is an opportunity to handle challenging and interesting multi-faceted compliance.
General Roles & Responsibilities:
- Communication will include regular collaboration with overseas partners by email, Zoom, WhatsApp, or phone.
- Understand the processes involved in international shipping from purchase order to delivery.
- Facilitating freight shipments by Air, Sea, and Truck from origin to destination around the world.
- Provide tracking and tracing services for customer shipments.
- Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date customer records, reports, shipment documentation, standard operating procedures, etc.
- Maintain all required logs and documents as required by country to stay up to date at all times in case of random inspection.
- Perform load and documentation audits and ensure all information is accurate.
- Conduct required inspections.
- Timely escalation of shipment issues, damaged goods, delivery discrepancies or potential errors to Manager as needed and work to provide timely solutions.
- Provide duty rates seasonally as well as assist in duty-related inquiries.
- Input and manage all international trade data in our ERP system and auditing data accuracy.
- Manage duty drawback programs for United States and Canada.
- Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the supply chain.
- Provide all relevant data to customs broker to ensure timely and accurate entry filing and customs clearance.
- Work with customs brokers on any issues involving clearances and customs entries.
- Lead Export Assistance Programs and stay up to date on any programs and funds available.
- Research new countries for company to sell to and notifying the Sales Department about opportunities.
- Process domestic required certifications and registrations as needed.
- Possible travel to export-related trade shows or conferences.
- As export grows, take on additional duties as needed.
- Other duties, as required, may be assigned.

Salary : $58,000 - $69,000
