Position Overview:
The Policy Service Representative 1 accurately processes and enters routine policy information for new business, changes to, reinstatement of, and cancellation of insurance policies. This person will assist agents and underwriters with a variety of support work, in a high-volume work environment, while maintaining a professional manner with a customer service focus. You will:
- Perform necessary rating and data processing, using both manual and automated methods, for new business, renewals, policy changes, quotes, cancellations, and reinstatements within authority limit. Will usually handle multiple lines of business in either Personal Lines or Commercial Lines.
- Review and verify information on submitted materials for completeness and accuracy; follow-up with agent and/or underwriter for missing or inaccurate information.
- Acts as a go-to resource when questions arise and serves as a mentor to other Policy Service Representatives.
- Provides training to team members.
- Interpret issuance and rating instructions from underwriters.
- Prioritize individual queue and group workflows to satisfy department deadlines and compliance standards.
- Respond to inquiries from agents and underwriters and effectively collaborate with internal departments to resolve potential rating issues.
- Provide technical and service support to agents and underwriters.
- Recognize discrepancies in data/information and takes ownership for a successful resolution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Ability to enter data quickly with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand priorities and plan accordingly.
- Strong self-motivation to work independently while working well with and coordinating with team members.
- Strong customer service orientation to support internal and external customers.
- Excellent verbal and written skills for effective communication.
