Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a Full or Part Time Medical Assistant/Scribe at our West Jordan location.
Overview:
This is the perfect opportunity for students pursuing medical school or a physician assistant (PA) program! Join our fast-paced specialty clinic and gain invaluable clinical experience working closely with three physicians and five advanced practice providers. In this diverse role, you will participate in direct patient care both in the clinic / office visit setting and in the procedural preoperative / postoperative setting. In clinic, you will assist with patient interviews, collect and document important health information, acting as a medical scribe for providers using advanced electronic medical record systems, order diagnostics, and communicate with health insurance companies and other healthcare facilities to help bridge gaps and maintain consistent and collaborative care for patients. Additionally, you'll gain hands-on experience in the preoperative / postoperative settings, conducting patient intake, placing peripheral IVs, and monitoring patients following their procedures. We operate in three locations (West Jordan, Cottonwood Heights, and Tooele). Our MA team rotates through all three locations and we do offer mileage reimbursement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Scribe experience is a plus but not required.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Excellent grammar and writing skills, with attention to detail.

Proficient typing/keyboarding skills (minimum 40 wpm).

Basic arithmetic, computer, and analytical skills.

Ability to communicate professionally with physicians, clinic staff, and patients (both verbally and in writing).

Essential Functions and Duties:
Clinic MA Responsibilities

Prepare and gather necessary information ahead of patient visits.

Greet, room, and complete patient intake interviews.
-
Present patient information (chief complaint, history of present illness) to the provider.

Accompany the provider during patient exams, assisting with treatment plans and patient education.

Assist with in-office procedures like nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and Botox treatments.

Accurately transcribe information into the patient's electronic chart.

Help order, schedule, and authorize treatments as needed.

Return patient phone calls promptly and relay information between the provider and patient.

Maintain thorough documentation of patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
Procedural MA Responsibilities

Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.

Complete preoperative intake, obtain vitals, and place peripheral IVs.

Assist with patient transfers, ensuring safety and comfort.

Obtain post-procedure vital signs and monitor patients during the recovery process.

Provide post-procedure and follow-up instructions to patients and their families.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and Rad Techs to ensure smooth and efficient procedure flow.

Support the clinical team in managing patient care during all stages of the procedure process.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and procedures in the medical record.
Education and Experience:

Scribe experience is a plus
-
Previous experience as a CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant is preferred.

Enthusiastic about gaining hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced setting.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and compassionate instructions to patients and their families.

Dependable and flexible, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.
