Overview :
Schedules patients for surgery, tests, referrals, pre-operative tests, and medical and urological procedures. Position requires the utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures / surgeries per provider's orders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Schedules office and hospital based medical procedures and surgeries, completes facility paperwork
- Schedules patients for diagnostic and imaging tests and completes informed consent with patients for procedures and surgeries
- Interfaces with appropriate vendors to ensure all necessary equipment will be on site for procedures / surgeries
- Reviews patient's medications and health history to determine pre-admission testing; enters notes and special instructions needed for procedures
- Schedules and gets approval for appropriate medical and urological clearances
- Confirms patient insurance information and obtains prior authorization as required
- Schedules patients for follow-up appointments and tests.
- Other duties as assigned
