Purpose
This position will work with internal and external teams to manage all aspects of a large-scale project from concept design to project completion. The applicant must have a proven track record of project management experience including conceptual design, budgeting, appropriations request, OEM selection, contract development, procurement, logistics, site construction, site utilities, equipment foundations, equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp up.
Job Responsibilities
- Project manager for multiple projects overseeing all aspects of the project from concept design to project completion and full ramp up.
- Coordinate between operations, maintenance, and R&D to ensure equipment design meets expectations and customer requirements.
- Develop and manage project budget – monitor and control costs.
- Develop and manage project schedule to deliver project on time.
- Provide regular project update reports to management utilizing Microsoft office products.
- Develop and issue RFQ’s for project activities including equipment supply, building construction, and equipment installation.
- Work closely with legal to develop contracts with equipment providers and external contractors.
- Coordinate between OEM and Freight Forwarder to ensure equipment arrives on time.
- Work closely with project team and outside engineering firms to develop layout drawings.
- Direct activities between engineering, operations, equipment suppliers, and contractors to ensure safe and effective project completion.
- Review and approve drawings submitted by OEM’s and contractors.
- Order entry of all purchase requests for responsible projects and coordination with accounting of all invoicing.
Qualifications
- 10 years’ experience working with cross functional teams and executing large capital projects
- Expertise in Aluminum Rolling Mill industry is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)
- Proven project management experience including conceptual design, budgeting, appropriations request, OEM selection, contract development, procurement, logistics, site construction, site utilities, equipment foundations, equipment installation, commissioning, and ramp up.
- General understanding of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to utilize CAD software to review and make notation on drawings.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective Verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills.
- Ability to travel as needed, including international travel.
