Job Purpose
The Marketing & Events Assistant is a seasonal position at Sullivan 180 that plays a key role in supporting marketing, outreach, and events to promote prevention, health, and youth engagement in the community.
The Marketing and Events Assistant will work closely with both the Director of Community Development & Communications and the Marketing & Events Manager on a range of tasks, including developing marketing materials and supporting event logistics; with specific projects identified through clear timelines and deliverables. This position offers hands-on experience in both marketing and event management while contributing to the advancement of Sullivan 180’s initiatives to improve community health.
Specific duties include:
- Assist in the execution of marketing campaigns and event promotions.
- Support the coordination of community events and initiatives.
- Data Analytics of Social Media, E-Updates and Website
- Collaborate with team members to ensure marketing and event objectives align with organizational goals.
Other duties include:
- Supporting staff across various program areas as needed.
- Undertaking administrative tasks to facilitate program implementation.
- Participating in meetings, events, and training sessions.
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications:
- Entering or current college student pursuing a degree in communications, mass communications, media, public relations or other applicable field.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills.
- Cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Must exercise discretion, sound judgment, and the highest professional ethics.
- Ability to drive and access reliable transportation to travel for meetings.
- Work well with people in various communities, institutional and governmental agencies.
- Mission driven and interested in community and public health.
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Proficiency in Canva, Meta or other social media or graphic design programs.
- Familiarity with Sullivan County geography, agencies and organizations preferred
This position is seasonal, running from late May/early June through late August, 25-30 hours per week.
