What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori Program Math and Science Teacher position at Granite Bay Montessori?
Private Montessori school, located in Granite Bay, is currently looking for dynamic, collaborative, team players to join our staff. Our lead teachers understand and promote the mission, policies, goals, and objectives of our school within the classroom, as well as throughout the school community and beyond. Lead teachers are responsible for providing a Montessori classroom and academic program which support the individual needs of the students while remaining true to core Montessori philosophies.
We are looking for a teacher with a background in science and advanced math (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry) for our Upper Elementary (4th-6th grade) and Middle School (7th-8th grade) programs. This position would also include science for lower elementary (1st - 3rd grade)
Position requirements:
Must be able to work with a wide range of student skill levels.
Have a clear understanding of Montessori philosophy, specifically individualized student work assignments,
Develop engaging lesson plans that meet school standards,
Ability work cohesively in a team teaching setting,
Clear and concise communicator
Education requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college / university in education (math and science related field)
A minimum of 2 years teaching experience (experience with 4th - 8th grade preferred)
Computer experience for online record keeping
Montessori certification, preferred
