Position Summary / Objective :
The Commodity Manager will play a critical role in growing the success of our business by focusing on providing our customer with industry leading support and quality of product. The Commodity Manager is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships within and across the business enterprise to achieve best total value. Includes Category and or Commodity management strategies and execution, supplier relationship management, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management. Individual is responsible for the complete range of strategic sourcing activities including spend analysis, strategy formulation, contract negotiations, and supplier quality / performance.
Essential Functions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Will be on computer for a majority of the day, every day.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Must be able to travel as needed via air and car.
- Must be able to sit / stand for long periods of time at an office workstation.
