Job Title: Go-to-Market Financial Analyst

About Us: The Granite Group is a New England-based plumbing, heating, cooling, water, and propane supplies distributor, operating nearly 70 wholesale branches and our Online Store. The Granite Group also operates 17 retail showrooms under the Sink & Spout name, offering an expertly trained staff to assist with product selection and an extensive array of decorative plumbing fixtures and accessories. We are seeking a skilled GTM Financial Analyst to join our team and contribute to our continued growth and success.
Position Overview: The Go-to-Market Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting strategic business decisions by providing financial analysis and insights for sales, marketing, and overall GTM initiatives. This role bridges finance with GTM operations to drive revenue growth, optimize resource allocation, and ensure financial efficiency across business units. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, business acumen, and experience partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
Develop, maintain, and analyze financial models to support GTM strategies, including forecasting revenue, gross margin and key performance metrics, including but not limited to sales force effectiveness, commissions and incentives modeling, etc.
Collaborate with sales teams and leadership to build accurate budgets and forecasts aligned with business objectives.
Conduct variance analyses between actual performance and forecasts, identifying key drivers and actionable insights.
Business Partnering & Reporting
Act as a strategic advisor to sales leaders and branch operations by providing financial insights and data-driven recommendations.
Develop ad hoc financial analyses and presentations for leadership to support decision-making processes.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.
Implement best practices in GTM financial planning, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with the finance team to enhance systems and tools for better integration and analysis of GTM data.
Strategic Initiatives
Support the evaluation of new market opportunities and GTM strategies, including territory planning and expansion analyses.
Assist in due diligence and financial modeling for partnerships, mergers, or acquisitions related to GTM initiatives.
Provide insights into competitive benchmarks and market trends to influence strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, or a related finance role.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (SUMPRODUCT, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, IF statements, etc.); experience with budgeting (e.g., Anaplan, Workday Adaptive) and/or financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information and effectively communicate the “story” behind the data.
Collaborative mindset with a proven ability to work across departments and influence decision-making.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Additional software experience such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), budgeting, or financial modeling and data analysis tools is a plus.
