Strongwell, the world leader in the manufacture of pultruded composite products, is seeking an estimator for its Bristol, Virginia manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for estimating all fiberglass projects, including the development of costing/pricing, preparing, and submitting bids/proposals as well as estimating material alterations after an order has been received. Works with engineering/drafting to convey work required based on the written quotation. Coordinates with customer and corporate representatives to obtain complete design information. Always exhibits professional presence consistent with company’s ideals and values, interacts effectively with all departments to facilitate a positive, productive working relationship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Thoroughly reviews client’s specifications, prepares, and publishes accurate job estimates.
- Accurately utilizes all estimating components
- Interfaces with customers as needed to determine the requirements of projects
- Maintains quotations for future reference and develops historical data
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Work with others in a cooperative fashion
- Interfaces with appropriate departments to generate accurate estimating elements
- Displays detail orientation without compromising effective time management skills
- Maintains perpetual competency with applicable technology
- Works with entry level estimators and assist with training as needed.
- Works well with minimum supervision
- As a positive company representative, influentially provides suggestions to secure order.
- BS degree, or combination of college and equivalent experience required.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading required.
- Basic estimating and material takeoff skills and experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability in mathematics.
- Strong oral and written communications ability.
- Strong computer skills
- Primarily sedentary.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, extended periods viewing computer monitor.
- Walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
Salary : $54,000 - $65,000
