Abrasive Blasting Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to review, comprehend and adhere to abrasive sandblasting standard operating procedures issued by company.
- Safely and efficiently Load and unload blast and paint bays according to priority list issued by management.
- Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
- Safely and efficiently use blasting and cleaning techniques in the preparation of surfaces for coating
- Operates valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle.
- Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when blasting, as directed.
- Disassembles sandblasting equipment and cleans equipment, using solvent, wire brushes, and dry cloth/
- Maintain all equipment in good working condition and use basic mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and repair items as needed.
- Provide strong communication daily to Manager and team members.
- Willingness to be flexible with job duties.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ability to lift and/or carry 70 lbs. over tough terrain
- Able to fit through 18” manway openings and work in confined areas
- Able to work 12-14 hours shifts if needed
- Able to work in harsh weather conditions
- High School Diploma or GED
- Entry level position but candidate preferably has 1 year of sandblasting experience
- Strong analytical and skills and quick learner
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Applicants must be Drug Free, a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests are required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 12 per week
