Jr High School Music Teacher
Location: Kennedy Jr. High School

Job Summary
Under the direction of the school principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where students develop the skills to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners and productive citizens. Teachers maintain a safe environment; establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education and do so in accordance with each student’s ability. Teachers differentiate curriculum and use effective research-based methods of instruction. Implement Proficiency-Based Grading in Student Evaluations.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Applicant must meet one of the following:
have a Utah Professional Secondary teaching license; or,
have an out-of-state Professional Secondary license; or,
have a current Associate Educator License (AEL) through the Utah State Board of Education.
Secondary music endorsement required

In and out-of-state applicants must upload a copy of their current state license with their application in order to be considered.
If approved for an Associate License, please upload both a copy of your highest university degree AND your AEL eligibility letter.
New teacher education program graduates, who do not have their official teaching license yet, should upload a conferral letter from their university education program in lieu of their license, verifying date of graduation, and in which content area(s). Candidate must have officially graduated before hire. A copy of the candidates official teaching license and degree will be required upon hire.
